SURGICAL REPAIR OF DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA IN DOG

Jaadoo, a 7 years old male Weimaraner was presented with complaint of constipation.

Xray revealed Herniation of abdominal organs in pleural cavity. CT Scan was performed which showed herniation of spleen, gall bladder and mesentry.

Surgery was advised and performed by Dr Vikram Dave, Dr Yash Savla, Dr Umesh Jadhav and Dr Nikita Pujari.

Adhesions of mesentry with the heart were removed carefully and the hernial ring of Diaphragm was sutured using prolene.

Surgery went on for 3 hours and Jaadoo was stable throughout the surgery and also after weaning off from the ventilator.
